2019 Monthly Color Challenge Blog Hops

February 2019 Monthly Color Challenge

Whoa. What happened to January?..
A new month means a new block for the 2019 Monthly Color Challenge over at Patterns by Jen.

For Feburary the flower is the pink Carnation.

Of which my little girl just received a bunch of for her first ever performance on stage from her daddy and I. 🙂
Her dance school teach is great and understands that the little ones need extra practice on stage so when it’s time for the recital, they don’t get up there and just totally freak out. Nikki did really good and I was proud of her. Anyhow, back to the block.

Once again I made 2 of this block.
The first is a scrappy version done using 16 different pink fabrics out of my scraps. This block will be made into a quilt along with all the other scrappy blocks for my little girl.

The second is a non-scrappy version. The non-scrappy blocks will not end up in a quilt. They will be made into individual items. January’s non-scrappy block is being turned into a special placemat for the kitchen for myself. This block I’m not sure yet if it will be turned into a tote bag for my girl or a placemat for her. Ever since I took staged pictures of the placemat I made for her Grandma complete with a plate with cake and a cup of hot tea she wants me to make her ALL the placemats! LOLOL

The other bloggers who are sewing along with Jen for this month include:
Joanne from Quilts by Joanne
Sarah from The Quilted Diary
Catherine from Ali & CC
And of course myself. But you already knew that since you’re here. 😉

Are you sewing along? Make sure to head over to Jen’s blog to pick up the block pattern for this month.
